The following was printed in the March 20, 1865 issue of the Daily Ohio Statesmen:
EXCHANGED – Capt. H. R. Bending and Lieut. M. W. Stribling, of the 61st Ohio, both of this city, have been exchanged, and arrived at their homes on Wednesday, to the great joy of their families. Bending has been a prisoner since the battle of Gettysburg, in July, 1863; Stribling was captured last summer, during Sherman’s campaign. – Circleville Democrat.
