Exchanged Prisoners

The following was printed in the March 20, 1865 issue of the Daily Ohio Statesmen:

EXCHANGED – Capt. H. R. Bending and Lieut. M. W. Stribling, of the 61^st Ohio, both of this city, have been exchanged, and arrived at their homes on Wednesday, to the great joy of their families.  Bending has been a prisoner since the battle of Gettysburg, in July, 1863; Stribling was captured last summer, during Sherman’s campaign. – Circleville Democrat.
